Corporate Department

The Corporate Department provides services to domestic and international clients in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, financing, project finance, corporate restructuring, securities law, corporate entity formation and management, franchising and distribution, to name a few. The Department’s Intellectual Property Division advises and assists customers in all areas of intellectual property, particularly trademarks, patents and copyright matters, and IP asset transfers.

Gillian Clarke heads the Department, and works primarily with multinational clients in the international financial services sector. Her clients include many of the international banks which provide project finance to mulitnational corporations with interests in a wide range of industries, from mining to shipping to technology research and development and licensing. Rosalind Bynoe often focuses on multinational and other corporations in the insurance sector, and also advises on labour and employment law issues. Debbie Fraser, on the commercial side, advises local, regional and multinational clients and international investment banks, on securities law issues and raising corporate capital.

Our team includes associates, UK qualified legal assistants and experienced corporate administrators who provide paralegal and administrative services, as well as a database manager, responsible for keeping electronic and paper minute books up to date. Sharon Rawlins and Carmeta Clarke work closely with customers in ensuring that their Barbados companies are in compliance in all respects with the licensing and legislative regime in Barbados. Annette Griffith focuses on clients who have external companies in Barbados and ensures that their external company registration is efficiently completed and remains valid at all times.
